Anushka Sharma’s latest release Pari is struggling at the box office. With not so good reviews from critics, this supernatural horror flick has seemingly failed to cast its spell over the audience. With a disappointing start, Pari has managed to crawl only to a total of Rs 15.34 crore on its first weekend.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the latest box office collection of Pari and wrote, “#Pari has an ORDINARY WEEKEND… Growth in biz, especially on Sat and Sun, wasn’t substantial… Plexes of major centres showed better trending… Fri 4.36 cr, Sat 5.47 cr, Sun 5.51 cr. Total: ₹ 15.34 cr. India biz.”
Moreover, its release on Holi which was expected to be a great time for the film to sell at the ticket counters has turned otherwise.
In her review of Pari, Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta said, “Anushka Sharma plays Rukhsana with a great deal of bloody enthusiasm. You cannot accuse her of not trying hard, but the film is so poorly-written, and so scatter-brained that nothing can rescue it, not even a leading lady who is determined to do something different with her producing heft. Poor Parambrata Chatterjee is left trying to hold up the story, such as it is, and is the only one left standing.”
